                                                                                                  5.  Violins and Violas:  SHOULDER REST (prefer Kun collapsible or Everest)

                                                                                                        Cellos and Basses:  Rock Stop or End Pin Strap

                                                                                                                5th grade:  Essential Elements Book 1 (this is what we used for 4th grade)

6th grade Essential Elements Book 2 (NEW)

ADVICE For Purchasing Equipment

  1. The items listed above are available for purchase from your rental store or the websites below on the right side, swstrings and sharmusic.
  2. If you choose to purchase them at a local store, I recommend you CALL FIRST to make sure they have it available before you make the trip.
  3. Check to make sure they give you the right book for your child’s instrument! A viola book is very different from a violin book, etc.
  4. Also, shoulder rests are sized with the instrument. A full size shoulder rest does not work for a ¼ size instrument.
